The 1875 artwork and painting by C.M. Vergnes. A French-born American whose work was later sold as a lithograph by Currier & Ives in 1945. This being the 70 year anniversary of the International Rifle Match at Dollymount, Dublin, Ireland.

A rare gun case bought from County Kildare.

                           One of those special days when a gem turns up in County Kildare. A percussion sporting gun case once housing a Thomas Calderwood gun of c.1835. The trade card states that Calderwood was gunmaker to his Excellency the Lord Lieutenant a position they held with at least two Lord Lieutenant's of Ireland. The Calderwood's traded from 14 North Earl Street, Dublin (1815-1897). We are always interested in buying good quality gun and pistol cases especially those with Irish  provenance. This trade label being extremely rare and in fine condition. One of our  lucky days!!!
