A tackle wallet dated 1959. 

Braddell's traded at the above address 1915-1975.

Joseph Braddell and Son transferred into a Limited Company on May 24th 1950.

Twenty-five years later the company traded in North Street, Belfast until a fire at these premises  halted trading in 2014.

We believe the business continued online and offering goods by catalogue. However, the company appears to have been dissolved in February 2025.  

The largest supplier of guns to this company were "The Midland Gun Company" although Braddell & Son were manufacturing "Bull Dog" revolvers in their own right for a large part of their trading until prices from Birmingham thwarted this trade.

The premises at North Street are now being used as an art studio.

A rare gun case bought from County Kildare.

                           One of those special days when a gem turns up in County Kildare. A percussion sporting gun case once housing a Thomas Calderwood gun of c.1835. The trade card states that Calderwood was gunmaker to his Excellency the Lord Lieutenant a position they held with at least two Lord Lieutenant's of Ireland. The Calderwood's traded from 14 North Earl Street, Dublin (1815-1897). We are always interested in buying good quality gun and pistol cases especially those with Irish  provenance. This trade label being extremely rare and in fine condition. One of our  lucky days!!!
