This blog should read in conjunction with our older post dated 8th May 2022,
in which a slightly different angle of events are given.
However, General Thomas Russel was hung. Fleming was dead and Daniel Muley (Gunsmith) had spent over two and half years imprisoned in atrocious conditions without charge.

A rare gun case bought from County Kildare.

                           One of those special days when a gem turns up in County Kildare. A percussion sporting gun case once housing a Thomas Calderwood gun of c.1835. The trade card states that Calderwood was gunmaker to his Excellency the Lord Lieutenant a position they held with at least two Lord Lieutenant's of Ireland. The Calderwood's traded from 14 North Earl Street, Dublin (1815-1897). We are always interested in buying good quality gun and pistol cases especially those with Irish  provenance. This trade label being extremely rare and in fine condition. One of our  lucky days!!!
